Welcome to  the Winter/Spring, 2015 Dance Season. I hope that everyone is fine and in good health. This new season, which began for me in the Fall of 2014, started of with a new Swing Dance class. The Rockabilly Dance, that was at the Blue Comet here in Glenside, has moved to the VFW on Jenkintown Rd., Glenside, PA. I was approached about starting a Swing Dance class there. (We had a series of classes back in Oct./Nov. 2014.) We are re-starting on Jan. 25, 2015. The class runs from 5:00-6:00 pm in the upstairs ballroom, then the Rockabilly Bands take over from there. (The bands play until 10:00 pm, downstairs in the main bar area.)

Zydeco, my main area of expertise, has seen some changes in the dance community. WXPN, the University of Pennsylvana radio station, has taken an interest in promoting Zydeco (The Zydeco Project, which is to last a year). They have already brought in Steve Riley and Curly Taylor. Both events were well attended. Unfortunately, I have not been included in the rotation of the dance instructors at any of the Zydeco events. These events have brought a whole pack of Newbies to the dance; that’s why I am going to offer a series of classes beginning on Jan. 26th (see the Group Lessons page for the details).

Information about my next Beginners Zydeco Class is now available on the Group Lessons page.  Also, please check the Blue Sidebar for info about Winter 2015 classes at my place.

I’m still teaching a Beginner’s Swing Dance class at Hatboro-Horsham Adult School, scheduled to start in March.

SPECIAL EVENT: I’ll be doing a Swing Dance lesson at the WWII Weekend in Graham Park, in Hatboro, sometime in May. I have done this event the past two (2) years. I do a demo, then a lesson; afterwards, the Big Swing Band kicks in. Details to follow.
